Who We Are

We're ecologists, planners, and scientists who believe environmental protection and human development can coexist when guided by good data and honest communication.

Our Story

Plateau Condor began in 2014 when three ecologists realized they shared a common frustration with how environmental consulting was typically practiced.

Too often, assessments were rushed checkbox exercises that missed important details. Reports sat on shelves gathering dust instead of informing real decisions. Clients received recommendations that looked good on paper but proved impractical in the field.

We started this company to do things differently. That meant spending more time on site, really understanding local ecosystems, and writing reports that acknowledged constraints instead of ignoring them.

Over time, we built a team of specialists who share this philosophy. Some of us have backgrounds in university research. Others come from government agencies or field ecology roles. What unites us is commitment to work that actually helps rather than just satisfying regulatory requirements.

What Guides Our Work

Field-First Approach

We don't rely on desktop analysis alone. Every project includes site visits where we directly observe conditions, talk to people who know the land, and understand context that doesn't show up in databases.

Honest Assessment

If your project will impact sensitive habitat, we'll tell you clearly. If regulations require changes to your plans, we'll explain why. Clients hire us for accurate information, not optimistic predictions.

Practical Solutions

Our recommendations account for real-world constraints like budgets, timelines, and operational needs. An ideal solution that can't be implemented helps nobody.

Scientific Rigor

All our conclusions are supported by documented observations, peer-reviewed literature, and accepted methodologies. This ensures our reports withstand regulatory scrutiny and stakeholder challenges.

The Team

Our consultants hold relevant degrees in ecology, environmental science, and related fields. Most have 8-15 years of experience across government, research, and private sector roles.

We maintain professional memberships with the Ecological Society of Australia and Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand. Several team members hold species identification certifications and specialized survey permits.

Where We Work

Our projects span Queensland's tropical rainforests, Western Australia's arid rangelands, and everything between. We've worked on pastoral stations larger than some countries and urban infill sites measured in hectares.

This geographic diversity taught us that ecology is deeply local. What works for vegetation rehabilitation in Tasmania won't work in the Kimberley. Solutions must fit the specific climate, soils, and species assemblages of each location.

We maintain field equipment caches in Brisbane, Perth, and Darwin to support rapid mobilization when projects arise.
